GKLR was born the day Gerard Kennedy and Lucy Runnalls purchased a block of Cambrian soil on the Mount Camel range, in Colbinabbin, back in 2016. Gerard had studied Geology and worked in the field for several years before returning home to Victoria to study winemaking and make wine for his parent’s label, Kennedy Vintners.

We’ve planted several varieties of grapes on our site, with a focus on those from Italy that thrive in our vineyard and in the Colbinabbin climate. With Gerard’s geological background, we’ve taken care of what varieties we’ve planted in particular areas of the vineyard to enhance quality and flavour profile.

We continue to be hands-on in our vineyard and in the winery to produce wines that are bright, vibrant and reflect us and our beautiful site.
